Japanese Kimonos and Yukatas
The Japanese Yukata
The use of this type of indoor garment goes back several centuries. Originally used in thermal baths, it is now used as a kind of light indoor kimono.
Over time, the Yukata, once blue or white in colour, has become a truly modern, light and comfortable garment, with a variety of colourful patterns, worn by both women and men.
It is usually made of cotton and is worn with a belt. It is machine washable with delicate laundry.
